A Jewish School for Emigrants A Jewish School for Emigrants Source: Gemeindeblatt der Juedischen Gemeinde zu Berlin, 21/1/36 The founding of the "Jewish Emigration School" took place on 16 January in the halls of the National Representation of Jews in Germany (Reichsvertretung). The goal of the "Jewish Emigration School" is to prepare young Jewish people for overseas emigration. It works alongside the existing emigration agencies and thereby complements their work. The school, which must be located on a farm, provides initially 125 pupils with agricultural, gardening, housekeeping and handicraft education. In addition to the purely professional training, special value is placed on moral, spiritual and linguistic instruction based on a conscious Judaism.
